Zips needed on pockets

I ENJOY the street fashions feature in the Tele, but some aspects of fashion puzzle me, eg, why do men’s blouson-type jackets (Harringtons and such like) have pockets without zips?

Without zips, your money, keys etc, are liable to fall out of these perilous open pockets.

My solution is to always scrutinise an article for that glaring omission

One could take the jacket to a private tailor to have them insert zips, but that might cost you more than you paid for the jacket in the first place!
