Proposals for eatery amended
DEVELOPERS behind a planned restaurant overlooking the Howff cemetery have submitted fresh design plans for the controversial eatery.
West One Properties has amended proposals to turn 5 Bank Street into a new 60-seat restaurant next to the historic site, after a second planning application was approved in November.
Initial plans were rejected by councillors in April last year, after conservation groups dubbed the scheme an “act of civic vandalism”.
The latest application seeks to install new windows on the ground floor and a new stairwell to create more space for tables.
Allan Mudie, from Brunton Architects, said: “It doesn’t change things too much.
“It’s what we’ve come back with after the informal recommendation from the planning department.
“We’ve put t his new application in from what we were told by the planning.
“Hopefully, this will be the final stage of that.”
