Pair deny po­lice as­sault charges

A MAN and a woman ac­cused of as­sault­ing po­lice of­fi­cers will face trial in April.

Ian Gor­thy, 35, of Court Street North, Dundee, de­nies as­sault­ing four po­lice of­fi­cers, and re­sist­ing ar­rest by them at Court Street North on Jan­uary 28.

He also de­nies be­hav­ing in an ag­gres­sive man­ner, shout­ing, swear­ing and re­fus­ing to de­sist.

He fur­ther de­nies, at po­lice HQ in Bell Street, fail­ing to pro­vide his de­tails to of­fi­cers.

Leanne Ber­tie, 21, of Burn­side Walk, de­nies as­sault­ing two of the of­fi­cers the same day and at the same place, breach­ing the peace, shout­ing and swear­ing, re­fus­ing to de­sist and ut­ter­ing threats of vi­o­lence.

Trial was fixed for April 26 with an in­ter­me­di­ate diet on April 5.
