Skip The Q shouldn’t be necessary
THE Skip The Q campaign set up by traders in Lochee is a great idea.
The premise is that cafes and takeaway stores that sign up will display posters in their windows saying members of the emergency services will go to the front of their queue and be served first.
This is to recognise their time is precious as they could be called to work at any time.
It is good to have a recognised system in place, though I would sincerely hope customers might have offered without being prompted. Although making it official means that there should be no objections if people are asked to step aside.
In general we need to have a wee bit more thought for other people though and should have been able to work this out for ourselves.
