THE Dundee Saturday Morning Football League (DSMFL) teams return en masse this weekend after their winter break.

A couple of significant games were played on Saturday with Hilltown Hotspurs passing up the chance to go eight points clear at the Premier top.

They were held to a 2-2 draw against the Medics, having been reduced to nine men. That could be a crucial point gained at the end of the season.

They lead Riverside CSC by six points though Riverside have two matches in hand. FC Kettledrum also trail by six points with a game in hand.

In the Balgay Bar First Division Cup, St James Athletic’s 4-1 win over Stobswell guarantees them a semi-final spot with a game in hand in Group B.

They play The Beat in a knockout game before the end of February.

The Beat progress alongside Club 83 out of Group A which also included Charleston and FC Menzieshill who have folded ensuring the top two go through.

The final semi place is still any from three with Stobswell, Ferry Mechanics and Cairdy Thistle in with a shout.
