Dokens heading north on cup duty

-

A NUMBER of clubs are on the trail of GA Cup glory, with North End heading north where they will hope to make it 15 wins in a row at Dufftown.

History shows Tayside clubs usually prove too strong for their North counterparts but Dokens boss Ross Lunan will take nothing for granted and demand his side gives 100%.

He will be forced into making a number of changes, with Craig Scrimgeour and Gary Archibald cup-tied while Michael Stewart remains on the injured list.

Tayport play hosts to Hall Russell, who are fourth top of the North Super League.

With home advantage and having beaten holders Broughty Athletic in the last round, Charlie King’s side will be strong favourites to go through. Marc Ogg is the only absentee from the Fifers’ squad.

East Craigie are another side who head north, facing Culter, who are normally one of the stronger sides in the region.

The Shipbuilders were a bit unlucky to lose 2-1 at Luncarty last week but could make the trip without Andy McDonald, Garry Welsh and James Malone, who are all nursing injuries. Jeanfield entertain Montrose Roselea. Apart from the suspended Lee Deans, Swifts have everyone available.

Roselea are without injured duo Lloyd Hester and Jack Dalgarno, and have doubts over Bair Stephen and Joe Aitken. Ryan Taylor returns.

Meanwhile, Luncarty also have North Super League guests in the shape of Hermes, who are sitting third, so will present a big test for the Bleachers.

The hosts are without suspended keeper Gordon Chalmers, while illness rules out Ritchie Montgomery and Bally Whytock.

Forfar West End should prove too strong for a Deveronside outfit who sit second in the North Region First Division (West).

Kirrie Thistle will have it all to do away to Stonehaven, who sit in fifth place in the North Region Super League.
