Meekings back for Jags crunch

DUNDEE will welcome back Josh Meekings tomorrow at Partick Thistle but there is a worry over Genseric Kusunga after he picked up a “niggle” at Kilmarnock.

Dark Blues boss Neil McCann says he’s hopeful for Kusunga but won’t take any chances with the player having not played much football before signing for the club this month.

Neil said: “In terms of injuries, we’re all right actually.

“Gense came off on Tuesday with a wee niggle in his hamstring, so we’ll be careful but we’re hopeful he’ll be fine.

“Meekings Haber is not.”

Mark O’Hara has also shrugged off a wee knock that saw him li mping at Rugby Park and then substituted.

That l eaves t he Dens gaffer options to ponder with only Julen Etxabeguren and youngster Matty Henvey missing apart from is back fit, long-term absentee Craig Wighton.

Meanwhile, Neil says the anger is still evident from Tuesday night’s defeat to Killie and only one thing will rectify that tomorrow.

“It’s still burning and will do until we put that to rest by a good performance and three points.

“I think our gameplan was good and the players carried it out — up until they got a man sent off.

“That’s what I’m angry about because we lost our composure, our discipline to play in the way that had got us to that position.

“The players were reminded of the reasons why we didn’t win that game, why we lost that game.

“Training has been good but it doesn’t matter what you do on the training ground, it’s what happens on the pitch.

“When we’re sitting at 10 to five on Saturday night I’ll know if they’ve wanted to put things right.”

Defender Josh Meekings is fit to play tomorrow.
