Murray may still have Hibs future

-

SIMON Murray could still have a f uture at Hibs, despite being loaned out to Dundee last month.

Murray was t he Dark Blues’ hero on Saturday when his two l ate goals earned a vital win over Partick Thistle.

That brace took his total to 16 i n 31 games this season and, although he is obviously out of the picture at Easter Road right now, Hibees boss Neil Lennon is monitoring his progress with Dundee.

He’s expressed satisfaction the 25-year-old is back in scoring form and believes the complicated deal that saw Scott Allan leave Dundee and join up at Hibs i s working f or all parties.

“With Simon it was an opportunity to get Scott in because I felt he would give us something different,” he said.

“Simon did very well at the weekend and got two really good goals for Dundee, so that’s maybe worked out for him.”

If Murray keeps scoring during his loan spell it may mean a return to the capital in the summer for the second 12 months of the two-year deal he signed when he left Dundee United at the tailend of last season.

Should the Easter Road club decide he is surplus to requirements, Dundee may look to make his switch permanent, though there has also been interest in him from abroad.

Just before his Dens move, Hibs turned down a six-figure bid from Turkish second-tier outfit Elazigspor.
