Foster out for a couple of weeks

-

ST JOHNSTONE defender Richard Foster i s set to miss the next few games due to the hamstring injury he suffered in the 0-0 away divide against Celtic.

The McDiarmid Park side’s manager, Tommy Wright, said: “Richard could be out for a couple of weeks.”

Stefan Scougall is out long term with ankle and knee injuries and, although not involved against Celtic, he was, naturally, delighted with his t e a m ’s d r aw against the Hoops.

The midfielder said: “It was a great effort and a great point for the boys.”

Saints gave a debut to winger George Williams against Celtic and Tommy was delighted with his contribution.

The Welsh international is on loan from Fulham and the gaffer is pleased he gave the wide man a start rather than have him begin proceedings on the substitutes bench.

“I had toyed with the idea of not playing George from the start but I’m glad I did.

“He played for 65 minutes and did well. And t hat 65 minutes of action will have done him the world of good.”

Williams played his part in a good Saints team performance.

“That’s us unbeaten against Celtic this season at Parkhead and not many teams can say that,”Tommy went on.

“We had chances, forced corners, worked hard and showed quality. Ever y player played their part.”

St Johnstone have appointed Melanie Stewart as head physiotherapist following the departure of Tony Tompos to Aberdeen. She will be assisted by Gavin McCarthy.

Melanie has been at Saints for 18 months and has also been a physio with St Mirren.

She said: “I’m delighted to be given this opportunity to step up and look forward to the challenge.”
