Man fined £200 for bail breach

JOHN De­war t, 28, of South Road, Charleston, was fined £200 by Sher­iff Lorna Drum­mond.

De­wart ad­mit­ted breach­ing a bail con­di­tion not to ap­proach or con­tact his for­mer part­ner Claire John­stone, or en­ter Brack­ens Road, by re­peat­edly ap­proach­ing her at a house in Brack­ens Road be­tween De­cem­ber 25 and Jan­uary 25.

De­wart had ear­lier been placed on bail af­ter ad­mit­ting as­sault­ing Ms John­stone at a house in Kingsway East on June 11 2017 and strik­ing her car re­peat­edly with a traf­fic cone, be­hav­ing in a threat­en­ing or abu­sive man­ner likely to cause fear or alarm, shout­ing and swear­ing and us­ing deroga­tory lan­guage to­wards her and kick­ing a fridge freezer.
