Gogic set to sit out sea­son

ALEX Gogic is likely to miss the rest of the sea­son with a knee in­jury, Hamil­ton boss Martin Canning has re­vealed.

The Ac­cies de­fender was sub­sti­tuted in the first-half of Satur­day’s 2-1 Pre­mier­ship win over Partick This­tle at the Su­per­Seal sta­dium.

Shaun Want also came off be­fore the break with a ham­string in­jury and fel­low de­fender Ge­or­gios Sar­ris was re­placed i n the sec­ond-half af­ter sus­tain­ing an an­kle in­jury — with both also miss­ing the trip t o Hibs t onight, while mid­fielder Ali Craw­ford will be as­sessed af­ter he re­cov­ered from a knee in­jury.

Canning said: “Ge­or­gios twisted his an­kle and should be out for 10 days — two weeks max­i­mum.

“Shaun Want should hope­fully be avail­able f or Satur­day (at St John­stone), he will miss tonight.

“Gogic l ooks a bit more se­ri­ous. I think he will prob­a­bly miss the rest of the sea­son, he has picked up a knee in­jury. We will need to wait to see the ex­tent of it but it is not look­ing good for him just now.

“We have had bad luck with in­juries this sea­son.”
