Tanser’s praise for boss Wright

-

ST JOHNSTONE left-back Scott Tanser has described t h e cl u b ’s team boss, Tommy Wright, as the best he has played under.

Tommy snapped up the former Rochdale player from Port Vale almost a year ago and has shown his confidence in the Blackpool-born player by playing him i n a good number of games.

Scott said: “I didn’t expect to play as much as I have and I enormous respect for the gaffer.

“He’s the best I’ve played under. He has given me a lot of confidence.”

Scott is also indebted to Brian Easton whose leftback slot he has been filling due to Easton’s injuries.

“Brian and I talk a lot and his advice is a great help,” Scott went on.

“He’s played at top level in Scotland and England, he’s more experienced and I’m grateful for all the help he gives me.”

Saints have three games left this season, Motherwell away on Saturday, followed by Hamilton at New Douglas Park on Tuesday and then Ross County at home a week on Saturday.

Tanser is looking forward to these games and also to getting a break.

He commented: “My season started last June as Saints were in the Europa League so it has been an 11 month season for me.

“However, it has been a good season as well as a long one and, after a break, I will be raring to go again.

“I am happy to be at Saints and I’m in talks with the club to pen a new deal.”

Hamilton say gate prices for Saints’ visit on Tuesday (7.45pm) will be pegged at £5 for adults and £1 for U/18s.

Although cash turnstiles will be available on the night, i t ’s p o s s i bl e to pre-purchase tickets. These are now on sale from the McDiarmid Park ticket office from 9.30am-5pm.
