Ladies Day heading towards a sell-out

-

ONE of the firm favourites of the racing calendar at Perth is heading towards being a sell-out.

Ladies Day at Perth Racecourse is on May 17 and organisers of the glamorous event anticipate beating the crowd of 5,000 which attended the final day of the Perth Festival last month.

VIP tickets have already sold out, with other tickets selling well.

Ladies Day will support Breast Cancer Now and dance duo Lovely Laura and DJ Ben Santiago will take to the main stage once the racing has finished.

Before that, Scottish band Carbon Copy will play on the VIP stage from 5.30pm.

Hazel Peplinski, chief executive of Perth Racecourse, said ticket sales for the threeday Perth Festival increased by 31% on last year and “set the bar high” for the rest of the season.

“We’re now all really looking forward to Ladies Day — another firm favourite of the Perth calendar — which attracts an enthusiastic crowd who really do dress to impress,” she said.

“Our VIP tickets have already completely sold out and, with other tickets selling well, we can’t wait to welcome another big Perth crowd of stylish guests to the track.”

Ladies Day will follow the Hoteliers Race Night, on May 16. This event features seven races including the feature race, the Salutation Hotel Handicap Hurdle.
