Police say woman’s woodland death suspicious
THE death of a woman whose body was found in a wooded area in Perth is now being treated as suspicious, police have confirmed.
Police Scotland also named the deceased woman as 22-year-old Annalise Johnstone, from the Ardrossan area of Ayrshire. Ms Johnstone’s body was discovered at the roadside of B8062 between Auchterarder and Dunning on Thursday May 10.
Senior investigating officer, Detective Superintendent James Smith, said: “Our inquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances surrounding this death and I would like to appeal to anyone who may have any information to come forward.
“Officers are carrying out forensic examinations as well as reviewing CCTV and speaking to the local community in and around the area.
“As part of our investigation it has been established that Annalise had left her home address in Ardrossan around 5pm on Wednesday May 9 and has travelled to the Tayside area. Annalise was last seen near to Ruthven Court, Auchterarder, round about 10pm that same day, having been dropped off there.”
Det Sup Smith added the force was keen to trace a silver coloured Ford Galaxy, registration ST67 HXL, as well as Ms Johnstone’s lime green iPhone 5 with red flip case and Marvel superhero wallet.
A clear bag of medication which is 4-5 inches in size and has a sticker on it with Annalise’s name is also missing.
