First tickets for V&A exhibition

-

THE first tickets for V&A Dundee’s inaugural exhibition can now be booked.

Programme director Sophie McKinlay said: “We are delighted to release the first tickets for our inaugural exhibition, Ocean Liners: Speed and Style.

“Organised by the V&A in London and the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, the remarkable show will reimagine the golden age of ocean travel and showcase more than 250 objects from public and private collections around the world.

“The exhibition will be the first major V&A show exhibited in Scotland and the first of many internationally significant and ambitious exhibitions at V&A Dundee.”

Ms McKinlay added: “This exhibition is the first to explore the design and cultural impact of the ocean liner on an international scale.

“Visitors will get a sense of what it would have been like to experience life on board an ocean liner.

“They will be invited to experience what it would have been like to step on board these ‘great floating palaces’ and discover how ocean liners became one of the most powerful and admired symbols of 20th Century modernity.

“There is a lot to be said about the romance of these floating cities which are a fine example of a totally designed experience.”

Tickets for entry to the show, which will run from September 15 until February 24 2019, can be purchased from the V&A Dundee website.
