Man charged with abducting women
A DUNDEE man has been accused of assaulting and abducting two women at a house in the Douglas area of the city.
Jay James Abbie Clark, 21, of Ballindean Road, is alleged to have injured the women and held them against their will in his home on Tuesday.
Clark appeared in private before Sheriff Alastair Carmichael at Dundee Sheriff Court.
He was on a petition containing four charges in total, which allege he committed the offences and that they were aggravated by his being on bail at the time.
The petition states that on May 15, at Ballindean Road, Clark assaulted Jeanine Burns, c/o Police Scotland, and struck her repeatedly with a glass tumbler and struck her with a glass bottle to her injury.
It is alleged that he committed this offence after having been granted bail on April 15 at Dundee Sheriff Court.
He is further alleged to have, on the same date and at the same l ocation, abducted Jeanine Burns by locking the front door and preventing her leaving the property, stating that she was not allowed to leave and detaining her against her will, while on the same bail order.
Prosecutors also allege that Clark assaulted another woman, Demi Williamson, also c/o Police Scotland, by throwing a glass at her on the same date and at the same flat in Douglas, once again while on bail.
The fourth charge states that on the same date and at the same flat at Ballindean Road, Clark abducted Demi Williamson by locking the front door of the flat and preventing her from leaving the property.
He is accused of having stated that she was not allowed to leave and detaining her against her will, again while on the same bail order.
Clark made no plea during his brief appearance in chambers before Sheriff Carmichael.
He was granted bail while the case was continued for prosecutors to make further investigation.
