Drugs ‘linked to organised crime’

FOUR people have appeared in private at Dundee Sheriff Court accused of supplying drugs as part of a serious organised crime gang.

The three male teenagers and a 44-year-old woman, all from Dundee, appeared briefly, and separately, from custody on the same petition before Sheriff Alastair Carmichael.

One of the teenagers, from the Menzieshill area, is just 16 and cannot be named due to his age. He, along with John O’Neil, 18, of Gourdie Place, Heather Samson, 44, of Forth Crescent, and Lee Hathway, 19, of Ballindean Place, are all accused of, on May 18, at a house in Menzieshill and elsewhere to the prosecutor unknown, being concerned in the supply of cannabis, O’Neil and the 16-year-old both while on bail.

All four are further accused of, on the same date and at the same house in Menzieshill and elsewhere unknown, being concerned in the supply of cocaine, both O’Neil and the 16-year-old while on bail.

The four are also accused of, on the same date and at the same location, being in possession of cannabis resin, both O’Neil and the 16-year-old while on bail.

Prosecutors allege the offences were aggravated by a connection with a serious organised crime operation.

None of the four made any plea and were granted bail while the case was continued for further examination.
