Alison’s plays are so popular tickets are even sold for the dress rehearsal
ALTHOUGH well-known Perthshire minister the Rev. Bill McGregor retired several years ago, he still preaches on a regular basis.
His wife Alison is not idle either as she writes plays, with Bill performing in some of them.
So, far from putting their feet up, the two are as busy as ever.
Alison’s latest offering, Death At The Ceilidh, has just been performed at Luncarty Arts Centre on the outskirts of Perth by Serendipity, the drama group she is a member of.
And once again, the offering was well-received.
In fact, Alison’s plays are so popular that tickets are sometimes sold for the dress rehearsal.
She little realised that when Serendipity started up, that performances would be so much in demand.
And, now that Death At The Ceilidh is over, Alison is turning her talents to penning this year’s panto.
“Serendipity has been performing plays since
2004,” she said. “Two productions a year, one being a panto.
“Bob Scott, the late former provost of Perth and Kinross, was a founder member and the folk in our group are of various ages, including elderly members.
“Including backstage workers and catering folk we have about 30 involved in the drama group and we are one big happy family.
“Those involved are from Perth and surrounding area.
“Our shows are normally sold out and that is a boost knowing people are keen to see what we do.”
