‘Unplayable’ on his day, Elton will ‘catch the eye’

-

“If we made the National League, there was hope he might have stayed on.

“Last season he looked at his options but with no firm offer from the Football League he stayed for another year.

“It was a case of getting the best out of him while we could so it’s bittersweet for Kidderminster fans.”

And Paddock is backing Ngwatala to follow in the footsteps of former Kidderminster favourites Marvin Johnson and current Dundee player James Vincent by carving out a career north of the border.

Vincent spent a large chunk of last season out on loan at Dunfermline and has been surplus to requirements under boss Neil McCann.

He has, though, still got a year to run on his current deal and may still end up featuring alongside another former Kiddy man.

Johnson, meanwhile, shone at Motherwell after he impressed them with 10 goals in 35 games at Aggborough, before moving back south for a reported sum of £650,000. He is now at Middlesbrough after leaving Oxford United for £2.5 million.

“James Vincent and Marvin Johnson have made careers on their moves to Scotland and Elton has the chance to make his name.

“A bigger stage, bigger opponents might just bring the best out of him.

“We wish him well, he has a great relationship with everybody at the club and we wish him good luck at Dundee.”
