United flop set for finals

YET again Scotland won’t be there but, with just one sleep until the big kick-off, all eyes are now firmly fixed on the World Cup in Russia.

The action starts tomorrow when the hosts take on Saudi Arabia in Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium.

Tonight the Tele’s build up concludes with our lowdown on the final section, Group H, possibly the least fashionabl­e of all the groups, hipsters apart.

Trying not to leave you feeling too left out by the Tartan Army’s absence, we’ll also provide a local link, tenuous or otherwise, to each participat­ing nation.

Signed by Mixu Paatelaine­n at Tannadice, Kawashima signed to regain his place in the national side but failed to perform as the club suffered relegation.

The 35-year-old now plays for French top-flight club Metz.
