MONIFIETH High School held a coffee morning event for knitters to make trauma teddies.

The trauma teddies scheme – first conceived by Australian firefighters – involves members of the public knitting and donating small teddy bears, which are kept in police cars and given to small children who come into contact with the police through traumatic or upsetting circumstances. The pattern is available by contacting TaysideNorthEastCPT@scotland. pnn.police.uk and can be collected from Longhaugh Police Station.

Picture shows Rebecca Makepeace, a school support specialist from Duncan of Jordanstone, helping 14-year-old Alex Ritchie, with her knitting.
