Bumper entry at 95th Mod
THE Perthshire and Angus Provincial Mod marked its 95th year with a bumper crop of entries.
Competitors from all over Scotland flocked to Breadalbane Academy Community Campus for the two-day event known as the Aberfeldy Mod.
Winners included Eubha Fraser of Monifieth i n Reading the Bible and Solo Singing and Layla Melville, Whitehills, in Conversation.
There were 450 entries in the j unior section, with Craig Stewart from Perth Academy winning the TSB Aberfeldy Branch Trophy for highest aggregate score.
Aberfeldy Gaelic Choir swept the boards during the senior contest.
The massed choir event went ahead in the town square, despite some worries about the weather.
The Mod was wrapped up with the annual Gaelic Songs of Praise.
The competition has a broad range of sections such as oral delivery, which includes reading at sight, reciting from memory and composition, vocal music including girls and boys solo and choral music and instrumental.
