are trying to get fitter as a family. My little girl is four years old – how much exercise should she do? under five should not be inactive for long periods except when they are asleep. Watching TV or being strapped into a buggy for long periods is not good for a child’s growth and development.
Once your child can walk on their own they should have at least three hours of physical activity a day.
Some of this can be light exercise such as walking around and playing, but this time should include periods of more active play, such as ball games and riding a bike.
