Char­ity re­ceives fund­ing

A CHAR­ITY which helps those with pro­found and mul­ti­ple learn­ing dis­abil­i­ties has been awarded more than £50,000 i n fund­ing.

PAMIS (Pro­mot­ing A More In­clu­sive So­ci­ety) has been awarded £56,900 by the Her­itage Lottery Fund to work with four her­itage sites i n Scot­land to i mprove in­tel­lec­tual ac­cess for those with pro­found and mul­ti­ple learn­ing dis­abil­i­ties (PMLD).

It will be work­ing with HMS Uni­corn in Dundee, Kelv­in­grove Art Gallery and Mu­seum in Glas­gow, The Pe­ter Pan Moat Brae trust in Dum­fries and the Na­tional Gal­leries of Scot­land in Ed­in­burgh.

The char­ity will work to in­crease so­cial in­clu­sion and of­fer life­long learn­ing op­por­tu­ni­ties by de­vel­op­ing multi-sen­sory sto­ry­telling re­sources.

The project will in­crease aware­ness and un­der­stand­ing of peo­ple with pro­found and mul­ti­ple learn­ing dis­abil­i­ties.
