Musselburgh is on Anemoi agenda
TRAINER Harry Whittington feels the bet365 Scottish County Hurdle at Musselburgh is an ideal target for Anemoi.
He is leaning towards making the t wo-mile contest on February 2 the next target for the fiveyear-old, rather than tackling the Betfair Hurdle at Newbury a week later.
Whittington said: “He is in great nick and has come out of his race at Cheltenham really well.
“He showed plenty of speed and just didn’t stay the two-and-a-half miles that day.
“He will be brought back to two miles now.
“He has got the Betfair Hurdle entry but that may not be a race on the agenda now.
“The way he races, he may be a bit too babyish for that and it might be too much for him.
“The Scottish County Hurdle could be a good idea.
“He can run in a handicap like that to get more experience.
“He will have a Supreme entry at the Cheltenham Festival.
“However, he will take in a race in early February and we are most probably looking at the Scottish County Hurdle.”
