Design a house for a superhero

BUDDING architects in Angus are invited to design a house for their favourite superhero.

The competitio­n, run by Angus Council in conjunctio­n with Voigt Architects, aims to give careers inpiration to school children.

Architect Jonathan Reeve said: “We worked closely with Angus Council and Developing the Young Workforce Dundee & Angus (DYWD&A) to develop the idea and brief, and are excited that this is now ready to launch.”

Entries can be any size and medium, such as pencil, Lego, cardboard, Minecraft or even on Sketchup/3D software, as long as it can be submitted as a video or photograph.

There are f i v e age category groups of P1-P2, P3-P4, P5-P7, S1-S3, S4+. A winner from each category will receive a goody bag with a £20 Amazon voucher. Jonathan will judge the designs and will create a 3D model of the overall winner.

A HAPLESS thief stole two bottles of vodka from an off-licence before running straight into the path of an oncoming taxi - then trying to steal the vehicle that struck him.

After failing to commandeer the car, he tried to flee the scene by crawling away with one of the vodka bottles.

The suspect, believed to be in his early 20s, was later taken to Ninewells Hospital with “a serious leg injury” after trying to flee Premier News Food and Wine Plus on the Hilltown on Tuesday.

Ambulance and police arrived at around 7pm after staff member Antonio Casci alerted the authoritie­s.
