Forfar Utd up next for free-scoring Shipbuilders

-

IF early-season results are anything to go by, East Craigie could well be the side to watch this season.

The Shipbuilders have won their opening two fixtures handsomely – scoring 19 goals.

Co-manager Craig Brown believes this week’s game against Forfar United will be no formality, however, despite having home advantage.

He said: “Our opponents have strengthened their squad since they amalgamated.

“They ran Violet close and had a good draw against Forfar West End last week, so we will have to perform at our best to get a result.”

The Shipbuilders will make a late selection.

North End boss Tony McAulay will be hoping his inside knowledge on Forfar WE will help the Dokens to their first three points of the season.

McAulay was assistant manager at Strathmore Park last season and is hoping the Dokens can get it right in front of goal after opening with two draws.

He has a number of players struggling with injuries and will make a late selection.

Meanwhile, the big game in Dundee is the Lochee derby at Thomson Park where the Bluebells play hosts to Harp.

Harp boss Jay Smart will be the less confident of the two managers after their heavy defeat from East Craigie last week but has promised they will give it their best shot.

Bluebells gaffer George Shields, on the other hand, can go into the game confident after opening with two victories and knocking in 11 goals against Coupar Angus last week.

He is also in the happy position of having a full squad to pick from.
