Reports ordered on child sex bid man

-

FURTHER reports have been ordered on a man who travelled to Seagate bus station in the hope of having sex with a child only to be stung by vigilantes.

William Meek thought he had been exchanging social media messages with a girl called “Paige”.

The 47-year-old sent numerous messages to the 13-year-old “child” over Tagged and WhatsApp, including asking if she wanted to “make love”.

However, Meek was unaware he was actually speaking to a man from a group which aims to catch adults trying to meet children for sexual activity.

Meek, of Polepark Road, pleaded guilty at Dundee Sheriff Court to attempting to communicate indecently with a child he believed was called “Paige” through social media messaging between July 7-14 2019.

On July 14 2019, Meek travelled to Seagate bus station with the intention of meeting a child and engaging in unlawful sexual activity.

Sheriff Alastair Carmichael further deferred sentence on Meek until March for further reports to be prepared.

A MAN accused of stalking a woman for over three months has been remanded in custody.

James Donoghue is charged with repeatedly attending at the woman’s front door, leaving her unwanted gifts and shouting through her letterbox between November 15 last year and February 18 this year.

The 39-year-old allegedly caused the woman to suffer fear and alarm by repeatedly attending at her home, shouting through her letterbox, staring through her windows, refusing to leave before banging on walls and windows.

Donoghue allegedly gave the woman unwanted gifts, declared his love for her, insisted on having a relationship with her and posted letters to her.

It is alleged he made sexually offensive remarks to the woman, invited her to his flat and tried to hug her.

Donoghue, of Clepington Road, pleaded not guilty when he appeared from custody at Dundee Sheriff Court.

Sheriff Alastair Carmichael fixed a trial for March and remanded Donoghue in custody.
