Stormy Antarctic can breeze to win

-

STORMY Antarctic can secure victory in a fast-track qualifier for the all-weather championships at Kempton tomorrow.

Ed Walker’s stable stalwart is still showing a good level of form at the age of eight, finishing second in a Listed contest at Newmarket on his latest start and winning at that level at Goodwood on May.

It is of little concern that only two of his 41 races have been on the allweather. Both have been at Kempton and he has run well on both occasions without getting the rub of the green.

He looks to have a lot going for him as he seeks career win No 10 and an eighth Pattern victory, in the Listed British Stallion Studs EBF Hyde Stakes.

La Hulotte can repeat a recent course success in the Unibet Fillies’ Handicap.

The Andrew Balding-trained threeyear-old got up in the final halffurlong to deny Monsaraz by a length and three-quarters.

That was her first win from seven starts, for which she has been put up 5lb. This slightly longer trip could eke out more improvement in the daughter of Lope De Vega.

Aced It can score for the third time since being bought by Lewes trainer Camilla Poulton out of Joseph O’Brien’s stable for just 800 guineas at the Tattersalls Autumn Sales 13 month ago.

One of those two wins came on this course and the gelding can register another in the Unibet Instant Roulette Handicap.

It is difficult to look beyond Le Chiffre D’Or in the opening Cazoo

Novices’ Hurdle at Hereford. A clearcut winner of a Wincanton bumper in the spring, the son of No Risk At All made a successful reappearance and jumping debut for Paul Nicholls at this venue a fortnight ago.

Stepping up in trip, he should be capable of defying a winner’s penalty before stepping up in class.
