SCORING EARLY TURNS INTO A PROBLEM

DUNDEE United scored early and lost, Dundee scored early and couldn’t get the vital victory, Arbroath scored early and lost.

It’s a strange quirk that saw three big games for our local teams start so well but end so disappointingly. It’s like scoring those early goals didn’t actually do them any favours.

For the Red Lichties, it changed the mindset. They’d won 1-0 at Rugby Park before and sat back in to defend their lead rather than continuing like they had at 0-0.

Arbroath need to remember how successful a season it has been.

And they have a big chance in the play-offs, too.
