Student raising funds
A UKRAINIAN student at St Andrews University has praised the solidarity of locals as she raises funds for her besieged homeland.
Darya Tsymbalyuk is studying for a PHD in modern languages and international relations at the university.
Darya, 32, is desperately worried about parents Victoria and Anatoly who are still in Ukraine. Despite her family concerns, Darya is trying to raise money for a Ukrainian children’s hospital and a centre for disabilities.
The fitness fanatic has joined forces with three of her friends at Saints Sports gym to organise Ukraine Fit-Fest this weekend.
Ukraine Fit-Fest begins at 11am tomorrow. Participants are asked to wear yellow and blue if they can. Tickets cost £7.50 for one class and £10 for two and are available on the day.
