Determination will take Fern far
LIFE must have been pretty terrifying for Fern Cameron when she started losing her balance.
The nurse simply couldn’t work out why she had suddenly become
“really clumsy”.
And when her vision was affected too she realised something wasn’t right.
Thankfully she was quickly given an MRI scan, which revealed a mass on her brain.
Despite the serious nature of the condition, she was back to work as a nurse just five months later – and now she is determined to raise money for Brain Tumour Research (see page 3).
As Matthew Price, community development manager at Brain
Tumour Research tells us, tumours are indiscriminate and can affect anyone.
Given her experience, Fern knows that better than most.
Her decision to raise funds to help those battling the condition is admirable and we wish her luck in her running challenge.
