A real Ray of sunshine

RAY McKinnon has never felt fitter.

It seems a rather odd thing to say just a few days after suffering with a heart attack, but the former United manager is adamant.

And despite the setback, his main ambition remains a return to the dugout and the job he loves.

A positive mental attitude may not be the cure for all physical ailments, but there is no doubt at all that it helps.

The fallout from his health shock has also given Ray a chance to lavish praise on the staff at Ninewells, who he quite rightly describes as “magnificent”.

His determination to take something positive from what could have been a devastating experience is admirable and will surely leave readers in no doubt – whatever may or may not happen on the football pitch, Ray really is a winner.
