United starlet wins award with loan club Caley Jags
his strike-partner Tony Watt – struggled to retain possession in the final third.
But Mulgrew believes the future is bright for Cudjoe.
“Matty Cudjoe is a really good player,” said Mulgrew. “He’s a young boy who needs game time.
“Sunday was a difficult one for him – we didn’t have a lot of possession. Having more of the ball suits his style more and we can help him more in that way.
“But he is definitely one for the future – somebody who can really kick on if he wants to.
“It’s like any young player: it’s a long, hard road with some ups and downs. Hopefully, he can really come through for us, be a top player and go on to big things.”
■ DUNDEE United starlet Logan Chalmers has been named
Championship Player of the Month for April following a string of sensational showings for Inverness.
Chalmers, 22, bagged three goals in four appearances last month as the Caley Jags secured their place in the Premiership play-offs.
In total, the gifted winger has rippled the net five times and claimed one assist in 14 outings since making the move to the Highlands.
Chalmers will hope to fire Inverness past Arbroath this week as Billy Dodds’ charges continue to push for promotion.
The former Scotland youth international has already made 40 senior appearances for United.
He remains contracted to the club until the summer of 2024.
