Rowdy gig fans just don’t stop
RUMOURS of Fleetwood Mac are a first-class tribute band and gave a superb performance in the Caird Hall on Friday.
However, the concert turned sour when a number of young women congregated at the front of the side and centre aisles and screamed and shouted continuously throughout the second half.
At one point I could not hear the female singer perform because of all the cackling going on. That, despite the mega-sized amplifiers!
I, along with others, remonstrated with the young women to be quiet, but were just met with ‘we are enjoying ourselves’.
A steward was approached and said that their instructions are that they cannot stop people enjoying themselves.
What about the rest of us, whose evening was being spoiled by the behaviour of women who were definitely inebriated?
I have to ask then, what are the (very few in number) stewards’ duties?
I am not a party-pooper by any stretch of the imagination. I have seen The Beatles,
Stones, Led Zeppelin etc in the Caird Hall decades ago and did my fair share of screaming and clapping.
I laughed when my bag was searched going into the hall. I was told they were looking for guns! I told him I had left it at home for the evening! I had to move my bus pass to let him see in my small bag!
I don’t suppose my experience will make the slightest difference to the management of the Caird Hall, so long as they continue to sell their tickets.
I attend tribute acts in Perth Concert Hall and there is never anything like the behaviour there as I experienced in the Caird Hall.
Looks like I will be travelling to Perth from now on.
