Revenge on mind as Stars head to Manchester

-

DUNDEE Stars are back on the road tonight and aiming to bounce back from a midweek defeat in Belfast as they visit Manchester Storm with revenge on their mind.

Stars and Storm clashed in the Elite Ice Hockey League just two weeks ago, with Dundee letting a 3-1 lead slip before losing in overtime in Altrincham. That result took the season total to two wins apiece, with both teams unbeaten at home against each other.

Speaking before tonight’s game in Manchester, Stars head coach Marc LeFebvre said: “It is a massive play-off game and that is all we are focused on.

“This is the biggest game of our season and if we are not ready for this then I do not know when we will be ready because this is what we play for.

“We are tied on points and need this win more than anything.

“We can only control what we can control, so it will be another tough game in that building, but we have had a good series with Manchester all season and I am sure tonight will be no different.”

On Sunday, Stars welcome league-leading Sheffield Steelers who are currently 12 points clear at the summit of the Elite League and have yet to lose to Dundee this season.

This will be the last time Dundee face the Yorkshire club in the regular season and they will be hungry to cause a massive upset against Aaron Fox’s men, after they claimed all five previous wins.

Discussing Sunday’s visit from Sheffield, LeFebvre added: “They are an excellent hockey team and have been the form team all season, since day one.”

Face-off for tonight’s road game in Manchester is at 7.30pm, while Sunday’s home game against Sheffield begins at 5pm.
