’I won £500k on Gold Cup Day – and you could win big too’

‘Nice guy’Jordan Reynolds says he is proof that anyone can hit the jackpot at Cheltenham

-

Few sporting events are quite as thrilling, or as unpredictable, as the Cheltenham Festival.

Just ask Jordan Reynolds.

It was during the horse racing event two years ago that Jordan, who works in finance in the postal sector, entered the free-to-play ITV7 prediction game – and scored a lifechanging result.

He scooped a staggering £500,000 after picking seven winners in seven races on the meeting’s final day.

Jordan, 25, had only entered the competition just before the action kicked off on Gold Cup Day, after receiving a text reminding him to make his selection ahead of the deadline.

REMARKABLE

His win was even more remarkable because he picked two of the winners simply because he liked the names.

“I couldn’t call myself an expert,” said Jordan. “Two of the horses that won were Lakota Warrior and The Nice Guy. The year before, I’d gone camping with my mates and we went to a club called Lakota. As for The Nice Guy, my friends always say I’m too nice!”

Jordan only checked his selection after the sixth race, and suddenly realised he was in with a chance of winning half a million pounds.

“When Billaway won the last race, I couldn’t process anything. I sprinted outside to tell my girlfriend – she couldn’t bear to watch it!”

Jordan’s win is the largest-ever jackpot won on ITV7.

This year’s Cheltenham Festival begins on Tuesday, 12 March, and ITV7 has more than £1million in jackpot prizes over the course of the four-day event. £100,000 is being offered on the opening day, followed by £200,000 on the second day and £300,000 on Thursday. The jackpot will rise to a massive £500k for Cheltenham Gold Cup Day on Friday.

The game is free to enter. Simply head to the ITV7 app or website and select your seven horses for a chance to win the jackpot each day.

Since Jordan’s win he has bought a VW Golf and a new home in Chesterfield for him and his girlfriend, plus a trip to Cuba for his parents.

He still works at the same place, even though friends joke that he could now afford to “pack it in”.

“I’ll be playing ITV7 at this year’s Cheltenham Festival,” he said. “I feel a little bit greedy, but it’s free to play.

“The only tip I could give is to have a go for the simple reason that anyone can win. Pick the names you like, because that’s what did it for me.”
