MP praises ten-pin hub

- BY ISLA GLEN

THE MP for Dundee East has paid a visit to the site of the soon-to-open Hollywood Bowl.

Stewart Hosie MP toured the £3m entertainment centre and reviewed the plans for the site.

During the visit, Mr Hosie met some of the team, including centre manager Laura MacDougall and regional manager Steven Bremner.

Hollywood Bowl will create up to 35 new jobs and will feature 20 ten-pin bowling lanes.

There will also be an Americanstyle bar and diner featuring a selection of food and drinks, including US classics such as hot dogs, burgers, shakes and signature cocktails.

Hollywood Bowl’s amusements area will offer top games, such as Mario Kart, as well as classics like air hockey and racing.

The centre will be the second bowling alley opening in Dundee in less than a year after Tenpin opened its centre at Kingsway West Retail Park last year.

Laura MacDougall, centre manager at Hollywood Bowl Dundee, said: “It was great to be able to host Stewart at the centre, and give him a full tour of our exciting and ambitious plans for the site.

“While he didn’t have the chance to try out his bowling skills, he promised to come back once we’re open to see if he has what it takes to score a strike!

“With the centre set to open its doors to the public next month, it’s going to be a busy few weeks for the team as we get everything ready for launch.”

Mr Hosie said: “It’s fantastic to have had the opportunity to visit this brand-new family entertainment destination today and get a real sense of all it will offer those living locally.”

Hollywood Bowl Dundee is set to open to the public from May 20.
