Ellen K Levy: Seeing Through

A Decade of Design

Sukaina Kubba: Turn Me Into a Flower

Sukaina Kubba is an Iraq-born, Toronto-based multidisciplinary artist who explores narratives of cultural and material assimilation and appropriation. For this major new solo exhibition, Kubba presents existing works alongside new commissions created during a month-long residency in DCA Print Studio. These new works range from paper pulp casting, embossing and laser engraving, to screen prints made on DCA’S large-format press. Working on an ambitious scale and largely in monotone, Kubba has created a number of works that will be suspended from the ceiling. dca.org.uk
Photo City: How Images Shape the Urban World

Today, photographic images are everywhere and the acts of taking, sharing and responding to them are integral to daily life. The explosion of photographic experimentation in the mid 19th Century coincided with the rapid growth of cities across the globe. Tetra Pak Dry Point Printing

Tetra Pak printing is essentially an intaglio printmaking process, similar to etching or dry point on metal. Instead of using metal plates as the printing matrix, this one-day class uses recycled Tetra Pak cartons. This material can be cut easily into different shapes and it’s possible to achieve very fine line drawings or textured areas. This is a perfect course for both beginners and intermediate printmakers, and you will leave with a collection of wonderfully detailed intaglio prints. dca.org.uk
Miscreen: Digital Desktop Screen Printing

Miscreen is one of a new, exciting generation of digital screen printing machines changing how we will screen print in the future. In this oneday course, you will learn the basics of screen printing, from making simple paper stencils to pulling a print.
