Meat theft and as­sault de­nied

STEPHEN Mc­tag­gart, 30, of Hill­town Court, de­nied shoplift­ing and as­sault charges.

Mc­tag­gart is ac­cused of steal­ing a quan­tity of meat at Tesco, Mur­ray­gate, on Satur­day.

He is fur­ther al­leged to have, on the same date in Mur­ray­gate, as­saulted Stu­art Scot­land by punch­ing him to the head and strug­gling with him, all to his in­jury.

Trial was fixed on that case for April 16. He also ap­peared on a charge al­leg­ing that on De­cem­ber 11 last year, at B&M Stores, Well­gate Cen­tre, he stole a pack of ra­zors and a pair of hair straight­en­ers. He de­nied the charge and trial was set for April 12.

In­ter­me­di­ate di­ets for both cases were set for March 29 and he was re­manded in cus­tody by Sher­iff Ge­orge Way un­til then.
