Meat theft and assault denied
STEPHEN Mctaggart, 30, of Hilltown Court, denied shoplifting and assault charges.
Mctaggart is accused of stealing a quantity of meat at Tesco, Murraygate, on Saturday.
He is further alleged to have, on the same date in Murraygate, assaulted Stuart Scotland by punching him to the head and struggling with him, all to his injury.
Trial was fixed on that case for April 16. He also appeared on a charge alleging that on December 11 last year, at B&M Stores, Wellgate Centre, he stole a pack of razors and a pair of hair straighteners. He denied the charge and trial was set for April 12.
Intermediate diets for both cases were set for March 29 and he was remanded in custody by Sheriff George Way until then.
