Karate contenders in town
COMPETITORS from all over the world are in Dundee for the seventh World Union of Karate Federations World Championships, which started today.
Representatives from more than 40 countries are the city, which is the first in the UK to host the event.
The contest is being held at the “melted” Dundee Ice Arena with 110 international referees and 230 coaches present.
More than 4,000 people – including athletes, inspectors, officials and coaches are expected in the city for four days of world-class martial arts.
The competition is being hosted by Dundee-based Kanzen Karate Scotland.
