Unusual bins move
THE use of council fleet cars to collect rubbish is an unusual move (see page 11).
You’d think it was the purpose of workers using lorries and other specially-designed refuse vehicles to empty people’s bins.
On the one hand, it might not bother residents who simply want their rubbish cleared – no matter the method.
On the other, it does raise questions about the organisation and efficiency of the authority’s waste collection schemes.
