Baffling use of social media

Evening Telegraph (Late Extra Edition) - - • • - EW.

WHAT is it with people who use Facebook to send messages to loved ones who don’t use Facebook?

I’m baffled by the number of times I spot someone wishing a family member happy birthday or the likes when the recipient won’t even see it.

It also annoys me when folk post these sorts of messages to people who live in the same house as them, or who they’ve already wished happy birthday etc in person/via phone.

Why the need to then post it on social media too? Is it simply attention-seeking?
