Evening Telegraph (Late Extra Edition) - - WOMEN’S -

JEANFIELD Swifts Women’s Development got back to winning ways last week with a

5-3 win away to East

Fife Violets in the SWFL2.

After going ahead through a Tara Laughlin strike in the first half, Swifts then conceded before the striker, who is the club’s top scorer this season, got her second just before half-time.

In the second period, Laughlin netted her hat-trick while Louise Mcclelland made it 4-1.

East Fife fought back to 4-3 due to lapses in the Swifts defence but Kaitlyn Doig was on hand two minutes from time to seal the victory with a fine strike across the keeper.

There were good performances all over the park, with the midfield triumvirate of Rachel Wolecki, Paula Strathie and Eilidh Davies, in particular, dominant in the first half.

However, it was hattrick hero Laughlin who stole the show, giving Swifts three muchneeded points to move off the bottom of the table.
