Scone in good shape for Scot­tish Cup clash

SCONE U/13 girls team have a big day this Satur­day when they travel to face Kil­marnock in the last 16 of the Scot­tish Cup.

The Perthshire side are also do­ing well in the East Re­gion Cup, reach­ing the semi-fi­nals.

Coach Dana Mcfar­lane said: “We have beaten Ross­vale (Glas­gow), Falkirk and Kir­rie in the Scot­tish Cup and are look­ing for­ward to tak­ing on Kil­marnock.”

Among the clubs they have ac­counted for in the East Re­gion Cup are In­verkei­thing and For­far Farm­ing­ton Blue Devils.

“The girls have worked re­ally hard to get where they are. As well as the cups, they are also do­ing OK in the league. Most of the team are from Scone and they are do­ing them­selves and the vil­lage proud.”

Scone lim­bered up for Satur­day’s big date with a 2-2 home di­vide against Letham. Olivia Adam and Sadie Coffield net­ted their goals.

Scone U/13s warmed-up for this week­end’s Scot­tish Cup clash with a mid­week game against Letham.
