Brief frenzy for Kay gigs
PETER KAY’S three Glasgow shows have sold out within minutes – even though they’re not for another 16 months.
Promoters have now added an extra two dates so fans can catch the comedian at the SECC in April 2011.
Tickets for extra shows, on April 14 and 18, are now for sale after briefs for performances on April 15, 16 and 17 sold out “in record time”.
With tickets costing £35 the comedian, who is currently at number one with his Children in Need song, will be laughing all the way to the bank.
A spokeswoman for the SECC said: “To sell so many tickets so quickly when he won’t be here until 2011 is phenomenal. It’s Kaymania!”
Kay said: “I’m delighted to be going back on tour and have been completely overwhelmed with the demand for tickets.”
Kay, who has sold out 20 nights in Manchester, is performing in Glasgow as part of his first national tour for seven years.
It follows his award-winning Mum Wants A Bungalow Tour.
Meanwhile, JLS, runners-up on last year’s X Factor have sold out their gig at Clyde Auditorium for a date in February next year.
Tickets for a second date, on December 13 2010 at the SECC, go on sale today at 9am.
