Charity is offering safety role


A CHARITY is looking fo r a yo u n g p e r s o n t o take on a water safety job.

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents wants a “young advocate” for the hands-on role with its leisure safety team following a successful second partners h i p b e twe e n i t s r o a d safety team and the Changemake­rs Future Leaders programme.

The 18 to 25-year-old will be placed with RoSPA for 10 days over a six-month period and will take the lead in a project to improve the charity’s involvemen­t with young people in water safety.

RoSPA’s head of leisure safety Peter Cornall said: “The Future Leaders programme provides an excellent opportunit­y for young people to get involved in RoSPA.

“With drowning the third leading cause of accidental death among children, water safety is an important issue.”
