Bird chaser

SINCE we moved to a new neighbourhood, our cat is constantly outside chasing birds. He never used to do this before. How do I stop him?

MANY cats have a strong natural motivation to hunt, which is not linked to how much food they’ve eaten.

To help protect the birds, feed them away from bushes where your cat could hide. Consider keeping your cat indoors during the late afternoon and early morning when birds are more likely to be feeding.

You could fit your cat with a collar and bell, with a quick-release mechanism to avoid injury to your cat.
