Toddlers boosted by gaelic class

TWO languages are better than one – that’s the message coming out of East Ayrshire Gaelic Parent and Toddler Group.

Research shows that pupils taught in two languages become better at problem solving.

Aileen Baillie, whose two-year-old attends the group and who has another daughter in the P1 Onthank Primary Gaelic Unit, said: “I would have b e e n i n t e r e st e d i n t h e girls learning any language, but the fact it was Gaelic was a bonus, as it’s a part of our culture.”

The group runs Thursd ays a n d F r i d ay, 9 . 3 0 - 11.30am in Mount Carmel Primary, Kilmarnock.
