Driver falls ill in Clyde Tunnel mid-rush hour
A FEMALE driver was rushed to hospital after falling ill inside the Clyde Tunnel during yesterday morning’s rush hour.
There were massive delays near the area shortly after 8am.
Traffic Scotland initially said vehicles were being held up because of an “emergency incident.”
Cars was reportedly queuing back onto the M8 at junction 25 Cardonald.
The Scottish Ambulance Service said a woman took ill behind the wheel and was “unable to carry on driving.”
A spokeswoman added: “We received a call at 8:31am to attend an incident at the Clyde Tunnel.
“An ambulance was dispatched to the scene and one female patient was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.”
Her condition was not disclosed.
